University of Guelph president Alastair Summerlee will be the keynote speaker Jan. 5 at the annual Southwest Agricultural Conference at U of G’s Ridgetown Campus. The conference theme is “Harvesting Success from Research and Innovation.” Summerlee will discuss the role that university research and innovation will play in the future of agriculture.

Geared to field crop producers, agribusiness representatives, researchers and students, the annual conference is one of Ontario’s premier field-crop events and is sponsored by the Southwest Soil and Crop Improvement Associations and the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs.
