U of G professor and Canada Research Chair Barry Smit has received the 2010 Award for Scholarly Distinction in Geography from the Canadian Association of Geographers. The award was presented at the association’s annual meeting held this month at the University of Regina. Smit was honoured for his “outstanding record of geographic scholarly accomplishment,” which includes professionalism in research, teaching and mentorship.
