In an effort to increase energy efficiency, decrease costs and maximize computer performance, Communications and Computing Services (CCS) has introduced a series of managed computer servers to U of G. This builds on the department’s commitment to service, says Cort Egan, manager of communications in Organizational Services within CCS.

“Virtual servers remove the dependency on physical hardware,” he says. “Administrators can grow or move the virtual servers without having to worry about hardware modifications. With a wide range of operating systems offered, the servers can be tailored to the various needs of a department.”
