On Dec. 6, join with the University community as we remember, reflect on and respond to the anniversary of the L’École Polytechnique Massacre and Canada’s National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women. A service will be held in the Adams Atrium in the Thornborough Building that will include remarks and a reading of the victims’ names. The service runs from 2 – 2:30 p.m.
In the University Centre Courtyard, the Student Help and Advocacy Centre will run an all-day vigil. The event includes displays to commemorate the victims of the L’École Polytechnique Massacre and other groups that have experienced gender-based violence. Participants are invited to write messages of love, healing, frustration, etc. and to sign a collage dedicated to showing the presence of gender-based violence in our community.
