This public lecture is presented by Prof. Emmett Macfarlane, University of Waterloo. He is the author of Governing from the Bench (UBC Press, 2013), and the editor of the forthcoming book Constitutional Amendment in Canada (University of Toronto Press, 2016). He has published numerous academic articles on the Charter of Rights, public policy, and the relationship between the courts and the legislatures.
