Dr. Marion Joppe, a retired professor of tourism, spoke to CBC News about the Canadian Transportation Agency’s ruling that Flair Airlines is a Canadian company.

Joppe said the decision has local and national benefits as it supports the Region of Waterloo, where it operates, and will help to meet the demand for low-cost airlines in Canada.

A professor emerita in the School of Hospitality, Food and Tourism Management, Joppe researched the planning, development and marketing of sustainable destinations.
