Sexualities researcher Dr. Ruth Neustifter spoke to Global News about the stereotypes that persist both within and outside the LGBTQ2SIA+ community.

Neustifter said negative stereotypes of LGBTQ2SIA+ people often exist because of a persisting heteronormative, white culture.

A registered family therapist and a professor in the Department of Family Relations and Applied Nutrition, Neustifter researches the intersectional experiences of those who are sexual or gender minorities, and/or who build non-traditional relationship structures.
