Dr. Timothy Dewhirst, a marketing professor in the Department of Marketing and Consumer Studies, commented on golfer Dustin Johnson’s brand ambassadorship with RBC in a commentary for the Toronto Star.
Dewhirst said RBC, which is the title sponsor for the Canadian Open, terminated its partnership with Johnson because he opted out of the tournament to instead play in a different tournament with a different sponsor.
