Dr. Sky Gilbert’s newest play “Pat and Skee” has been reviewed by The Hamilton Spectator, which called the School of English and Theatre Studies professor’s production a “compelling and haunting homage.”
“Pat and Skee” is about Gilbert’s parents and “their ultimate acceptance of him as their gay son,” The Spec said, calling it a blessing that its world premiere was in Hamilton, Ont.
Gilbert was the co-founder and artistic director of Buddies in Bad Times Theatre. His work explores euphuism and ‘the queer feminine style,’ dramaturgy and playwriting, sexuality and the stage, theatrical cross-dressing, and male femininity in writing plays.
