Dr. Jeffrey Wichtel, dean of the Ontario Veterinary College, spoke to TVO.org about the ongoing veterinarian shortage in Ontario.

Wichtel discussed what’s required to expand enrolment at OVC, as well as proposed changes that would permit a larger scope of practice for veterinary students and registered veterinary technicians.

The dean of OVC since 2015, Wichtel holds a faculty appointment in OVC’s Department of Population Medicine, and has extensive experience as an animal nutrition researcher, clinician and administrator.
