Two University of Guelph professors contributed commentaries to The Globe and Mail Opinion section about COVID-19 vaccination mandates.
Dr. Theresa Lee, a professor of political theory in the Department of Political Science, discussed in her commentary philosopher John Stuart Mill’s “harm principle” and how the concept fits into the current debate on COVID-19 vaccination.
Lee is a political theorist who specializes in contemporary political theory.
A commentary by Dr. Manish Raizada, a professor in the Department of Plant Agriculture, also appeared in The Globe and Mail. It examined the various vaccination mandate decisions made by the country’s universities and colleges and noted only a handful of Canadian schools have announced they will require those on campus to be vaccinated.
