Mental health will be the focus of online discussion-based workshops at the University of Guelph as part of Shine: Mental Well-being Awareness Week.
Shine is an initiative developed by U of G students and staff to promote mental wellness and provide students with resources to help support their mental well-being.
On Tuesday, March 16, an event entitled “An Open Dialogue of Men’s Mental Health” will focus on the stigma that men face when sharing their mental health concerns, how to help men reach a turning point for seeking help and opening a conversation about men’s mental health.
The workshop runs from 5:30 to 7 p.m. and features a combination of speakers sharing their experience about their own mental health, as well as educational content on U of G support resources, and an opportunity for questions and discussion. There will also be an opportunity for Q & A from the audience.
This event is open to everyone. The first 30 men who register on GryphLife and attend the event will receive a $5 Tim Hortons gift card.
