The University of Guelph is investigating a possible Zoom hack that occurred this week during an online lecture.
The hacker made racist and unacceptable statements, which were heard by students and instructors. A video of the incident is also circulating on social media.
The University takes such incidents seriously and condemns behaviour of this sort. We will not tolerate racism, hate, bullying and verbal attacks of our students and instructors using social media.
The University of Guelph is committed to creating an environment free of discrimination and to fostering a culture of inclusion and diversity. We are firm in this commitment and are working hard to combat racism and discrimination on our campus and beyond.
