Prof. Andrea Bradford

University of Guelph engineering professor Andrea Bradford is one of several women to be honoured at this year’s YMCA-YWCA of Guelph annual Women of Distinction celebration.

Bradford is an internationally recognized water resource engineer who studies water management for wetlands and rivers. She researches urban water systems, low-impact development, and stream and wetland restoration.

The annual Women of Distinction awards celebrate women who are role models, pioneers and exceptional achievers in Guelph and Wellington County.

This year’s 16 honourees, who include U of G alumnae, embody the event’s theme of Breaking Ground and Raising Community.

The 2020 Women of Distinction event raises funds for several Guelph Y programs, including the Teenage Parents Program.

The gala will take place Thursday, May 7 at the River Run Centre. Tickets go on sale March 5.
