Prof. Simon Somogyi, the Arrell Chair in the Business of Food at the University of Guelph, co-wrote an opinion piece in The Globe and Mail, along with master’s student Andrew Nixon, about what steps Ontario needs to take to help the province’s ever-growing wine sector.
Somogyi wrote that the current system that places wine only in government-managed LCBO stores is not benefitting consumers and it’s not helping wine growers. He said allowing privately owned wine stores in Ontario is “a must to help the wine sector.”
