U of G Psychology Prof. Dan Meegan appeared on TVO’s The Agenda with Steve Paikin to discuss his new book, America the Fair: Using Brain Science to Create a More Just Nation.
An expert in neuroscience and applied cognitive science, Meegan has long explored how we make decisions. Most recently he has been researching the ways in which different people see the world through their own lenses of “fairness.”
His new book relies on psychological science to show why our brains are programmed to recoil at “unfairness” and how these instincts are finding their way into policy debate and conflict, leading to “us” and “them”-style politics.
