Prof. Charlotte Yates will complete her first term as provost and vice-president (academic) on July 31, 2020, and has expressed interest in reappointment for a second term.

In keeping with the University Appointments Policy, a review of Provost Yates’ first term is being conducted under the direction of a Review Committee, which includes the following members:

  • Davar Rezania, Faculty, College of Business and Economics
  • Jeryn Mackey, Undergraduate Student
  • Keely Kavcic, Graduate Student
  • Erin Levesque, Staff, School of Environmental Sciences
  • Shannon Thibodeau, Staff, Student Life

The University community is invited to provide input and comment on Prof. Yates’ role as provost and vice-president (academic). In particular, the Review Committee is interested in receiving feedback pertaining to the following characteristics, as they relate to fulfillment of the provost’s mandate, and positioning the institution for the future:

  • Academic leadership, including academic planning
  • Fostering academic excellence
  • Encouraging academic innovation
  • Fostering student success and access
  • Budget planning
  • Management and communication abilities
  • Overall leadership

Submission of Comments

Faculty, staff and students may submit comments to the Review Committee by confidential email to universityappts@uoguelph.ca (accessed only by the University Secretary).  Alternatively, comments may be submitted confidentially in hard copy to the University Secretary (University Centre, Room 402).  Anonymous submissions will not be accepted.

Submissions will remain strictly confidential and be reviewed solely by the Review Committee.  Submissions must be received by February 13, 2019.
