A team of University of Guelph students will join other students from across the province tomorrow at the “Battle for CA$H” in Toronto.

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario sponsors the annual competition for university students considering a career as a chartered accountant. The U of G team includes business students William Ginther, Mohammad Yassin and Adrian Goberdhan.

A total of 41 three-person teams are travelling to Toronto for the competition. Team members are all undergraduate business students selected by the institute’s board of associates in partnership with accounting/business society executives from 21 university programs across the province. CA$H pits the teams against each other in friendly competitions that stress the use accounting skills such as communications, teamwork, leadership and time management.

The winning team receives $3,000 and an additional $1,500 for the university’s accounting club. Additional prizes include $1,500 for second place and $750 for third, with teams placing fourth through sixth each getting $300.
