U of G’s Students Promoting Awareness of Research Knowledge (SPARK) program has been honoured by the Association for Communication Excellence (ACE) with six awards. They were presented recently during ACE’s annual conference in St. Louis, Missouri.
Advance magazine, the official publication of the Guelph-based Advanced Foods and Materials Network, won a silver medal. The publication is written and produced by SPARK.
The SPARK-produced magazine Research won three silver awards ─ best photography, illustration and print advertisement ─ for its spring 2009 issue.
A news article written by Ridgetown Campus student Paulo LaBerge won a bronze award. His SPARK story highlights U of G research efforts to boost the nutritional value of tomatoes.
The newly-designed SPARK logo received a bronze medal.
ACE members include the largest land-grant universities in the United States.
