Looking to incorporate open educational resources (OERs) into your courses? The library is hosting discipline-specific workshops focused on finding and using these materials for your class.
OERs are educational materials (including textbooks, modules, streaming media, simulations and much more) that are an exciting alternative to commercially published textbooks and other course materials. OERs are not only free of cost, but they are often editable and adaptable to ensure that you’re able to provide the best curricular content for your course.
This workshop will equip you with tips and best practices on how to find and evaluate OERs that are appropriate for use in your teaching. You will leave this workshop with an understanding of the variety of sources and collections that exist for OERs in the sciences, as well as several tools you can use when evaluating content for quality and relevancy.
