The Thriving in Action Program
Join us for Thriving in Action, a new online program at the University of Guelph. Thriving in Action will help you move from languishing to flourishing throughout your time in university. Build motivation, optimism and resilience, and learn how to integrate those skills into your work as a student. In each workshop, you will learn and practice both wellness and learning strategies that will help you be the student you want to be. Join us for one or all four workshops this spring and learn how to thrive. Workshops are offered online and will be delivered via Zoom. This program is offered by the Library and Student Wellness.
All participants will be entered in a draw for one of two gift certificates valued at $25. Attend all four workshops and your name will be entered four times. If you attend all four workshops, you can obtain a letter of recognition for your participation.
Workshop 3: Mindfulness and the Present Moment
Explore here how to be in and make the most of the present moment. Learn how to plan and become more attentive, all from a mindful approach. Presentness can help to see things more clearly, gain perspective, feel grounded and excel. The art of attentiveness can help you to pay attention to yourself and what is around you and can be directly transferred to becoming a thriving student. Presentness and Attentiveness will be explored along with academic strategies for planning and notetaking.
