ArcGIS is a Geographic Information System (GIS); a software program for working with maps and geographic data. A GIS allows you to work with any data that you know a location for (e.g., addresses, latitude/longitude, census locations, name of a place, etc.). ArcGIS is available on all the library computers, also by download to the University community. Although similar in some ways to online mapping sites, ArcGIS has greater analytical capabilities and allows you more input and control over your map. In this workshop we’ll learn further GIS tools, work with tables and begin working with raster data.

PLEASE NOTE:

You must use a University of Guelph login to self-register for this workshop. If you don’t have a U of G email address, please contact library@uoguelph.ca to request registration for this workshop. You must have ArcGIS Pro installed on your computer and your account registered prior to the workshop. You will not have time during the session to install the software. You must attend this workshop on a computer (not a mobile device). We cannot troubleshoot software or installations during the session.
