Graduate Student University Teaching Day is a teaching development day for grad students to improve their teaching skills and build connections with other instructors at the University of Guelph. This will be the first annual Graduate Student University Teaching Day (GSUTD), which replaces the Graduate Student University Teaching Conference (GSUTC).
Choose from two concurrent workshop sessions. Each attendee will participate in a total of four workshops throughout the day. You will also hear from experienced educators in a “Spotlight Speaker Series” and a “Microteaching Masters.”
Read the complete schedule and descriptions and register on the OpenEd website.
After you register, an email will be sent to you with a link to a Qualtrics survey to finish your registration and select your four workshops. Please be sure to complete this survey.
Please note: Registration will be capped at 150 participants. There will be a waiting list in the event that spots become available. Registration closes at 11:59 p.m. on Aug. 16.
By the end of GSUTD, participants will be able to:
- Feel more confident and prepared as a teaching assistant in higher education
- Identify and implement diverse evidence-based teaching strategies
- Connect with teaching peers to develop a teaching community for support and advice, and a network for sharing teaching challenges and successes
- Locate resources to support teaching assistantship work, growth and success at the University of Guelph
