January 18 @ 10:30 am - 1:00 pm

A New Perspective for 2024: Awakening the Body's Wisdom for Complete Health and Well-Being. Dr. Jivasu, MD. Paediatrics, King George's Medical University. Contemporary Acupuncture Program, McMaster University, Mind Body Medical Institute, Harvard University.

Join the U of G Wellness@Work sponsored Workshop on Thursday, January 18, 2024, from 10:30 A.M.-1:00 P.M. at Fireplace Lounge, Mills Hall (opposite Creelman Hall/behind War Memorial Hall), U of Guelph.

Many factors can result in us feeling disconnected from our body and the life flowing through it. This can lead to physical and mental health problems and a lack of fulfilment, affecting our well-being.

In this workshop participants will learn why we are disconnected from the body and how to reconnect and awaken our body’s wisdom to heal supporting our health and well-being. Emerging insights on neurobiological mechanisms underlying recovery will also be discussed. There will be a period for Q&A, feedback, and a quick summary of potential future programs and the methods for follow-up. Bring your own yoga mat. Chairs will be provided.

Program:

  • 10:30 – 11 a.m. Classical Yoga/Meditation
  • 11 – 11:30 a.m. Interactive Presentation with Dr. Jivasu
  • 11:30 – 11:45 a.m. Break (Tea/Snacks)
