April 8 @ 2:00 pm - 4:30 pm
On April 8th from 2 to 4:30 p.m., U of G’s Department of Physics will facilitate a safe viewing experience on campus of the solar eclipse, an event where the moon passes in front of the sun.
We are encouraging people to gather on Johnson Green where members of the Department of Physics team will circulate and answer questions. The Dept. will also host small groups in its Observatory. These groups will be on a first come, first served basis. Please contact physugra@uoguelph.ca and include contact info as well as group size and any accessibility needs to be included in the Observatory tours.
Note that a limited supply of eclipse glasses will be available, as well as a few telescopes with filters on Johnson Green, and the telescopes in the Observatory will all have solar filters on them.
