The Department of National Defence (DND) says there are unexploded bombs from the Second World War buried in a bog near Ottawa that served as a practice bombing range in the 1940s.  

Dr. Alex Souchen is a professor in the University of Guelph’s Department of History, and studies the history of science, technology, warfare and the environment. He’s the author of War Junk: Munitions Disposal and Postwar Reconstruction in Canada. Souchen is available to discuss the public safety and environmental impact of these bombs and other unexploded legacies from the Second World War.
