Earlier this year, U of G received an expression of concern from UoG for Palestine regarding the University’s endowment investment portfolio. This initiated the process in the Special Action Policy to strike an Ad Hoc Committee, comprised of student, faculty and staff members of the Board of Governors and alumni, that is reviewing the submitted expression of concern. In accordance with the Special Action Policy, the Ad Hoc Committee will provide a report on the expression of concern to the Finance Committee who will in turn provide a final recommendation to the Board of Governors.

In its review, the Ad Hoc Committee is also taking note of the endowment investment related matters raised in a subsequent document published by the same group after the Special Action Policy process started. Both the expression of concern and the subsequent document are posted in full on the University Secretariat website.

As part of the process outlined in the Special Action Policy, the Ad Hoc Committee is inviting students, faculty, staff, and alumni to submit written responses to the expression of concern with respect to the University’s endowment investments by September 20, 2024.

Submissions may be sent to csar@uoguelph.ca and should include the writer or group’s name and affiliation(s) to U of G. Neither the submissions nor the names associated with them will be posted publicly by the University. A reminder of the opportunity to provide written submissions will be sent to students later in September, once classes have commenced.

Submit your response.

Thank you for your participation in this process.
