Profs Among Canadian Experts Providing ‘Food Facts’

Two leading researchers from the University of Guelph, Profs. Alison Duncan and John Prescott, are among 10 Canadian scientists who have joined a free online resource for consumers called Best Food Facts.

It’s the Canadian version of an American service that had more than 800,000 visitors last year. Consumers submit a question to, a researcher is contacted for an answer, the answer is published on a blog post and the post is also sent to the questioner.

Duncan and Prescott will address human nutrition and animal bacterial disease questions, respectively, from Canadian consumers. In Canada, the service is being coordinated by Farm & Food Care, which hopes to see BestFoodFacts reach 150,000 visitors next year.
