Despite a spinal cord injury that left him a quadriplegic, Drew Cumpson remains determined to complete his degree in hotel and food administration. The U of G undergrad was injured in a swimming accident during a volunteer trip in Lima, Peru, on May 10, 2011.

As part of National Mobility Awareness Month, Cumpson entered an online contest to win a wheelchair-accessible van. To vote for Cumpson and view his video, visit http://www.mobilityawarenessmonth.com/entrant/drew-cumpson-tichborne-on/.

“It has been a struggle, but I have tried to stay positive through this whole experience,” says Cumpson in the video. “I’m still the same ambitious guy I was before my accident.”
