For the second year in a row, U of G’s grounds crew received an honour award in the urban university category from the Professional Grounds Management Society (PGMS). The Green Star Awards recognize excellence in landscaping and maintenance. Guelph was the only Canadian university to be recognized by the PGMS this year.

The society describes U of G’s campus as “an 817-acre site blending Victorian turrets with modern concrete, glass and steel, hand-hewn century limestone and brick walks with landscaped plazas.”

The awards were presented at the society’s 2011 Green Star Awards dinner in Louisville, Kentucky. For a complete list of winners, visit the PGMS website
