A funeral service will be held April 26 for University professor emeritus Alexander Ross, who died April 16 at the age of 94. He joined the Ontario Agricultural College faculty in 1956 and, after the University was established, served as chair of the Department of English until 1974. He retired in 1978. Prof. Ross was the author of several books, including The College on the Hill: A History of the Ontario Agricultural College, published in 1974. He is survived by his daughter, Celia Ross, and her husband, Michael Bennett; and grandson, Alasdair Bennett. The funeral service will be held in Sault St. Marie, Ont.
