Hello, I am Charlotte Yates, president and vice chancellor of the University of Guelph.

Here at the University of Guelph, we pride ourselves in developing solutions for global problems, pushing the boundaries of research and continuously striving to improve life. Today’s challenges require our University to turn to science, technology, engineering and math to help chart the path for a better tomorrow.

A university’s role is to nurture the curiosity of our students, and I am so pleased to see the work Royal City Science is planning in developing an interest and passion in STEM education for the next generation.

This collaboration between University of Guelph faculty, staff and community members reminds us that the work of higher education can only be achieved on the building blocks of a solid educational foundation and a strong, supportive community.

I am so looking forward to what this organization will accomplish and I’m very proud of our many university community members who are dedicating their knowledge and time to this worthy endeavour.
