Join us for the annual Project SOY Plus finale. This year’s event will take place in the University of Guelph’s University Centre on March 31st, 2023. Judging and public viewing of projects is available 10 a.m. until noon – during this time, we encourage you to ask questions and learn more about these student innovations. The award presentation is to follow from 12:30 to 1 p.m.
Project SOY (Sustainable Opportunities for You) Plus provides students with a chance to channel their innovative thinking into the development and marketing of plant-based products. Originally started in 1996 as Project SOY, participants were asked to put their minds together to innovate soybean-based products. The competition has now grown to include all plant-based products.
University of Guelph students from the undergraduate or graduate programs have been working in groups with a faculty advisor to create scientifically sound new product concepts and marketing plans that will be presented to you.
All entries will be judged by industry representatives and prizes of $2,500, $1,000 and $500 will be awarded to first, second and third place contestant winners in two categories: undergraduate and graduate.
