Guelph Arts Council is pleased to collaborate with the Art Gallery of Guelph and the University of Guelph’s School of Fine Art and Music in presenting Opportunity Knocks: Visual Arts & Music, an evening of conversation with experienced arts managers and artists that will help visual artists and musicians put their best foot forward in finding and responding to creative opportunities.

Artists of all ages and experience levels are welcome.

The three-hour session begins at 6 p.m. on Nov. 9, 2017 at the Art Gallery of Guelph, 358 Gordon St, Guelph, and includes a panel discussion, concurrent break-out sessions for visual artists and musicians, and networking. The break-out sessions will be led by Carmen Spada (music), and John Kissick and Barbara Hobot (visual arts). The panel discussion will also feature Shauna McCabe, Executive Director, Art Gallery of Guelph, and Petra Nyendick, Executive Director, Silence. Presenter bios are posted at guelpharts.ca.

The session is presented in association with the Guelph Young Artist Mentorship Project, a GAC/SOFAM partnership that is made possible with support from the Ontario150 Partnership Program. Thanks to Ontario150 and SOFAM, Young Artist Project participants and SOFAM students are free. The session is also supported by Silence.

Registration fees are $15 for GAC members and youth (25 and under), and $25 for non-members. Please register online or by calling Guelph Arts Council at 519-836-3280.
