Monday, January 27, 2020 @ 2:30 pm - 7:00 pm

The School of Environmental Design and Rural Development (SEDRD) and Global Affairs Canada invite you to a session with Paul Winters and Thouraya Triki from the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) – United Nations. They will be accompanied by Global Affairs representatives Stephen Potter; Director Agriculture and Food Systems and Anatoliy Shatkovskyy, Senior Analyst.

The activity is part of IFAD’s visit to Canada to strengthen the alliance between Canadian universities, Global Affairs Canada and IFAD. The aim is to link Canadian universities to the work IFAD does in developing countries. Canada is one of the founders and one of the strongest donors to IFAD, one of the largest sources of financing of agriculture and rural development in the world’s poorest countries.

This session should have some importance for SEDRD and OAC.

The event will include:

  • Welcome to IFAD and Global Affairs Canada representatives
  •  IFAD presentation and audience questions
  • Open meeting with University of Guelph research institutes, research chairs and research directors

All University of Guelph researchers are welcome. No registration required. Further questions should be directed to Prof. Silvia Sarapura-Escobar, Rural Planning and Development – International Stream, SEDRD at Ext. 56786 or sarapura@uoguelph.ca.
