In a recent survey of University of Guelph undergraduate students, 57 per cent of learners reported that they do not purchase the required resources for their courses, a finding that has serious implications for student success, learning outcome achievement and course design.
Open Educational Resources (OERs) provide an alternative to commercially published textbooks and other course materials. OERs are not only free of cost, but they are editable and adaptable to ensure that you’re able to provide the best curricular content for your course.
Participants will leave this workshop with an understanding of OERs, Creative Commons licensing, and how these resources can benefit the teaching and learning experience.
