One Health is emerging and evolving from a concept to an actual framework to address current and future issues. Global drivers such as climate change, resource limitations, pollution, emerging diseases and terrorism require new constructs and skills to deal with these new challenges. Veterinarians are uniquely positioned to play a central role in these arenas. They will, however, need to acquire new and additional skills to meet societal needs and fill these new roles and opportunities.
