The CCSAW seminar “Targeting problems in laboratory mouse welfare and biomedical animal model validity” will be presented by Jamie Ahloy Dallaire, assistant professor of livestock behaviour and welfare in the Department of Animal Science at Université Laval.

During his postdoc in the Department of Comparative Medicine at Stanford University, Dallaire worked toward improving both laboratory animal welfare and the validity of biomedical animal research. He will be discussing his recent projects on laboratory mice, including research on evaluation of pain and analgesic efficacy, and on treatment of injurious aggression in group-housed males.
