The Campbell Centre for the Study of Animal Welfare presents the 2018 Animal Behaviour and Welfare seminar: What do we mean by “one welfare”?

Professor David Fraser, University of British Columbia, has maintained a strong interest in animals and animal welfare throughout his 46 years of teaching and research spanning farm, companion, laboratory and wild animals. He is currently Professor in the Animal Welfare Program of the University of British Columbia in Vancouver.

He has served as a scientific advisor to many organizations including the the World Organization for Animal Health (Paris) and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (Rome). He is the author of Understanding Animal Welfare: The Science in its Cultural Context (Wiley-Blackwell, 2008). In 2005 he was appointed Member of the Order of Canada for his contributions to science.
