Members of the U of G community are invited to attend a ceremony to initiate the lighting of Johnston Hall and show support for the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence. As part of this ceremony, the Sexual and Gender-Based Violence Support and Education Centre and S.A.F.E. (Sexual Assault Free Environment) Peer Educators will be lighting Johnston Hall purple as the purple ribbon has long been a symbol representing the prevention of gender-based violence.

We hope members of the U of G community can join this lighting ceremony in solidarity with those impacted by gender-based violence and to learn more about ways to take individual and collective action to addressing and eliminating gender-based violence on and off campus.
