Federal Election: How and Where to Vote

As the Federal Election approaches on April 28, 2025, there are multiple options for students, faculty and staff to vote.

Vote on Campus Program

To increase access to voting for students, U of G is participating in Elections Canada’s Vote on Campus Program.

Students and any eligible electors will be able to vote in at the University Centre in Peter Clark Hall (level 0) on April 13 from noon to 6 p.m. and April 14 to 16 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. by special ballot.

When voting by special ballot through Vote on Campus, electors can vote for a candidate in the riding where they ordinarily live. Students who are living away from home while attending school can choose to cast a ballot for their home riding or the riding they live in while attending school, or a staff member who commutes to U of G from another city can cast a ballot for their home riding conveniently during work hours.

Be prepared to cast your special ballot by viewing the most recent list of confirmed candidates in your riding through the Voter Information Service, as you will need to write in the name of the candidate you’re voting for.

Advance Polling

Advance polling will be available at the University Centre in Peter Clark Hall (level 0) from April 18 to 21 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. for those assigned to the University Centre as an advance polling location.

Confirm your advance polling location on the Voter Information Service.

Election Day

On election day, April 28 from 9:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., the University Centre will host a polling station in Peter Clark Hall (level 0) for those assigned to vote at the University Centre.

Confirm your assigned polling location on the Voter Information Service.

When voting on campus, you may park for free in visitor lot P31.
