As the Ontario election approaches on Feb. 27, 2025, there are multiple options for students, faculty and staff to vote.
Advance voting on campus
Advance voting will be held from Thursday, Feb. 20 to Saturday, Feb. 22 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. each day at Peter Clark Hall in the University Centre (level 0).
Any eligible voter from the Guelph electoral district can vote at the University advance voting location (or any other advanced location in Guelph).

You can also vote before election day at your local election office or other advance voting locations.
Election Day
There will be Election Day voting on campus from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 27 in Peter Clark Hall in the University Centre (level 0).
On Election Day, verify your assigned voting location identified on the Elections Ontario website.
You can only vote at your assigned location as determined by your postal code. If you live off-campus, your assigned voting location may be off-campus.
Voting options for students living away from home
If you are an eligible elector studying in Ontario but living away from home for school, you have two options for where to vote:
- In the electoral district for your permanent home address; or
- In the electoral district for your address while attending school
If you prefer to vote in your home electoral district, you can apply to vote by mail by Feb. 21 at 6 p.m. or vote in advance voting.

What you need to vote
Online voting registration for the Ontario election has now closed, but you can update or add your information when you go to vote.
Visit the Ontario Elections website for the list of ID requirements to vote.
Students living in residence can obtain a “Proof of Address” letter from the Housing Portal. When you log in, you will find the link on the right-hand side of the top menu bar.
