Dear U of G community,
I’m writing to inform you about a serious incident that occurred on campus recently. While there’s no reason to suspect an ongoing safety risk to our community in connection to this incident, I want to make you aware of the reporting mechanisms and supports available to you on campus.
On Wednesday evening at 7:30 p.m., the Campus Safety Office was called to attend to a reported sexual assault on campus. Shortly before 9 p.m., Campus Safety officers located and apprehended an individual who has since been arrested by Guelph Police Service. The individual who has been arrested is not a current student, faculty or staff member, and Guelph Police Service are investigating.
The safety and well-being of all our community members while on campus is our top priority and we’re grateful Campus Safety officers were able to respond swiftly. In light of this incident, we want to ensure you’re aware of the supports available on campus.
