Meat products in Canada, including beef jelly tongue and a chicken and mushroom sauce, along with products in the United States have been recalled due to the presence of Listeria. These recalls come on the heels of a deadly Listeria outbreak in Canada linked to plant-based milks.
Dr. Lawrence Goodridge, director of the Canadian Research Institute for Food Safety and professor in the Department of Food Science, is available to discuss the impacts of Listeria infections, along with the difficulties associated with tracking outbreaks and what people need to know about possible contamination.
Goodridge is available for interviews.
