Following negotiations, the University of Guelph and CUPE 3913, the union that represents teaching assistants, graduate service assistants and sessional lecturers, have reached a tentative renewal agreement.

The tentative agreement addresses many key priorities for both sides, including job security, compensation, equity, and measures in support of mental health. Negotiating committees for the University and the Union are recommending ratification of the agreement.

The current agreement expired August 31, 2023 and the two parties met a total of 24 times.

Details of the agreement remain confidential pending ratification in the coming weeks by union members and the University’s Board of Governors.
