Dr. Ernesto Guzman

Dr. Ernesto Guzman, a professor in the School of Environmental Sciences, was featured in The Canadian Press in an article examining the first ever vaccine for honeybees. 

The vaccine helps prevent American foulbrood. Guzman explained what makes the disease so devastating and commented on the positive effect the vaccine could have. The article appeared in several dozen publications including the Toronto Star and CTVNews.ca 

The scientific director of the Honey Bee Research Centre, Guzman studies the genetics, behaviour and parasitic mites of honeybees.
