Drs. Terry Van Raay and Andreas Heyland, both biologists in the College of Biological Science, spoke to CBC News about Peer Premier, a service they’ve launched to separate the peer review process from journals and publishers. 

The article noted the high costs involved in academic publishing both for universities and for researchers and examined the service that Van Raay and Heyland have created that promises to compensate reviewers fairly while keeping publishing costs low, as detailed in a recent article on U of G News.

Van Raay is a professor in the Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology while Heyland is a professor in the Department of Integrative Biology .
