Dr. Scott Weese, veterinary infectious disease specialist in the Ontario Veterinary College (OVC), spoke to CNN Health about rats in New York City catching COVID.

“It’s… a reminder for the future, and that we need to be approaching things in the broader context, animal and human health all together” he said, cautioning people to keep their distance from the rodents.

Weese is a professor in the Department of Pathobiology, the chief of infection control at OVC, and the director of the Centre for Public Health and Zoonoses (CPHAZ).
