Dr. Simon Somogyi

Dr. Simon Somogyi, agribusiness researcher at the Gordon S. Lang School of Business and Economics, spoke with The Canadian Press about the impact large American retailers such as Walmart and Costco are having on food costs amid inflation.

“Any competition that can come into the marketplace is welcomed” to keep costs down, Somogyi said in the article that appeared in several news publications across the country.

The Arrell Chair in the Business of Food and a professor in the School of Hospitality, Food and Tourism Management, Somogyi researches agri-food value chain analysis and management.
