Dr. David Ma, a professor of human nutrition researcher in the College of Biological Science, discussed new childhood obesity guidelines in the United States in an article and a TV report for The National on CBC.  

Ma called the guidelines “band-aid solutions” and said more focus should be on understanding the root causes of childhood obesity.  

As a professor in the Department of Human Health and Nutritional Studies and the director of the Guelph Family Health Study, Ma researches childhood obesity and fatty acids.
